Mr. Stolyarov gives a brief overview of the seven principal causes of bodily decay as human organisms age, as outlined by Dr. Aubrey de Grey. Each of these causes has been known for at least the past 26 years. In the meantime, colossal advances in biology and biotechnology have been made, meaning that it is unlikely that new major causes of death via senescence will be discovered. It is therefore possible to formulate a plan of attack against each of these seven menaces, and indeed progress is already being made on a variety of fronts to combat them. Describing the enemy is the first step toward defeating it.
