This musical work was written down in 2002 but was never recorded or performed in public until now, when it has been entered into and played by the Anvil Studio program. Although the meter of this piece is ¾ and it has some dancelike passages, its mood is likely more suited to thinking than to dancing – hence the title, “Deliberation.” The major-minor shifts in this piece are more frequent than in any other of Mr. Stolyarov’s compositions – often occurring in consecutive measures. The result is still harmonious but gives the melody a distinctive quality, evoking associations to deep, profound, serious thought.
