The Art of Wendy D. Bateman:
January 3, 2006:
The Rational Argumentator is pleased
to announce an addition to Mr. Stolyarov's Gallery of Rational Art: a
set of paintings by a contemporary artist whose works exhibit
precision, skill, and life-affirming values. Miss Bateman's
paintings are inspired by Objectivist literature and ideas, as well as
her own rigorous standards of beauty. Click on the links below to see

Filosofy
Modern Scientists' Faulty Definitions of Matter:
Errors of Post-Classical Fysics
Series: Part I
January 5, 2006:
The problem with much of
post-Classical fysics is its militant neglect of logic and filosofy,
writes G. Stolyarov II. Such neglect has consequences that invalidate
some of the very core propositions of modern fysicists, including
their definitions of matter itself.
Light is not a Particle:
Errors of Post-Classical Fysics
Series: Part II
January 6, 2006:
G. Stolyarov II thoroughly explains the
flaws in the modern fysicists' view that light consists of particles.
He employs logic and ubiquitous observation-- the tools of rational
cosmology-- to debunk the first part of the fashionable
"particle/wave duality" of light.
Light is not a Wave:
Errors of Post-Classical Fysics
Series: Part III
January 7, 2006:
G. Stolyarov II refutes the second part of
the "particle/wave duality of light," the view that light is a "wave."
He shows how this mistaken view, held by post-Classical scientists, is
the result of a double error: the false equation of light with
"electromagnetic force" and the reification of a model describing the
effects of this force-- the "oscillating field"--as an entity in
itself.
Radio Signals are not Waves:
Errors of Post-Classical Fysics
Series: Part IV
January 9, 2006:
After refuting the wave view of light, G.
Stolyarov II shows how that fallacy has adverse consequences beyond
the modern fysicists' misapprehension of light itself. The very names,
"radio waves" and "microwaves," pervasive in public usage, are
symptoms of the problem: a refusal to recognize, through rational
thought, that these fenomena are not waves at all!
Rational Cosmology and Lasers
Errors of Post-Classical Fysics
Series: Part V
January 9, 2006:
Post-Classical fysicists contend that the
"particle/wave duality" of light is necessary to explain the operation
of lasers, but G. Stolyarov II shows this to be untrue. He
demonstrates how rational cosmology's view of light as a direct
relationship at a distance between source and target can account for
the behavior of lasers even better-- in a non-contradictory fashion.
Polarization of Light without the Wave Model
Errors of Post-Classical Fysics
Series: Part VI
January 12, 2006:
Post-Classical fysicists assume that light is a
wave, use this assumption in their description of the polarization of
light, and then state that this description of polarization "proves"
that light is a wave. However, G. Stolyarov II exposes this
circularity and shows that one needs not use the erroneous wave model
of light to explain polarization.
Literary Analysis
The Lion, the Witch, the Wardrobe, and the
Humbug:
January 6, 2006:
Michael D. Shaw argues that C.S. Lewis's
book, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the
Wardrobe, is not a true Christian allegory and misrepresents
several fundamental principles of Christianity. Mr. Shaw also disputes
crucial aspects of Lewis's theology.
Politics
The New Chivalry:
January 9, 2006:
Feminists have tried to kill the old
chivalric behavior of gentlemen toward ladies. However, writes Selwyn
Duke, they have replaced it with a chivalry of their own: a feminist
chivalry which demeans and humiliates males, while granting females
automatic superiority by virtue of their gender alone.
Abolish Anti-Discrimination Laws:
January 12, 2006:
A recent lawsuit against a women-only
fitness center in California shows the hypocrisy of feminist
legislation against discrimination by private employers. The heinous
principle of egalitarianism can be used to destroy women-only
organizations just like it has been systematically used to forcefully
alter the policies of male-only businesses-- yet mainstream feminists
oppose the former and strongly embrace the latter. The solution,
writes Wendy McElroy, is not to apply egalitarianism across the board,
but to recognize the rights of property owners in deciding who shall
be admitted to their organizations.
Mail Order Bride Law Brands U.S. Men Abusers:
January 12, 2006:
The
International Marriage Broker Regulation Act of 2005 (IMBA) is a
tremendous violation of American males' individual rights, writes
Wendy McElroy. This law would presume the males guilty of criminal
intent until proven innocent and require them to disclose confidential
information to foreign women before even being allowed to communicate
with them via private marriage broker services.
