Chinese Customers are Treasured

Dr. Bill Belew

Issue LXIII- June 9, 2006

The US Chamber of Commerce is on a tour of the US called China Business 2006 Initiative.

The purpose of the tour is to encourage exchanges between the little guys. They want to pair up US business executives, legal experts, government officials, academics who have on-the-ground experience in China with local business owners, and community officials who might benefit from opportunities in the Chinese market.

For example - China is the third largest buyer of products in Kansas! And the fifth largest buyer of Missouri exports.

West Coasters are not the only ones who can do business with China. And I know quite a few Chinese who wish they could bring/send things from China to the US and back.

Zhou Wenshong, Chinese ambassador to the US, says that pairing up small-but-growing businesses in the US with similar companies in China is an encouragement to both sides.

One man said, "I've been in China for 18 years and I have never have never lost even $1 on an unpaid invoice. I treasure my Chinese customers"

Of course, all businesses treasure their customers when they pay all of their bills, no?

Why would he say this about Chinese customers?

What do you think?

Editorial Commentary by Mr. Stolyarov: Honest, industrious, productive people are a boost to any economy; the Chinese customers who never defraud their business associates are excellent examples of individuals who offer great incentives for production and prosperity. People want to produce for such men of integrity, because they know that they will be rewarded for their productivity.
