Texas Congressman Ron Paul’s presidential campaign had another impressive fundraising day yesterday.

In a 24-hour period on January 21, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the campaign raised $1.85 million, making it the campaign’s third-largest fundraising day.

Yesterday, over 5,200 first-time donors contributed to the campaign.

“Freedom is indeed a powerful message,” said campaign chairman Kent Snyder.

In a 24-hour period on December 16, 2007, the campaign raised $6 million, surpassing the one-day record of $5.7 million held by John Kerry.

Today Donald L. Luskin, Chief Investment Officer for Trend Macrolytics LLC and contributing editor of the National Review Online, endorsed Texas Congressman Ron Paul for president.

In his endorsement statement, Luskin wrote: “Ron Paul is the only candidate of any party with the courage and the insight to address the most fundamental issues of economic liberty – which is fundamental to human liberty.”

Luskin is also a contributing editor for, a frequent guest CNBC, and the author of two books, Index Options and Futures: The Complete Guide and Portfolio Insurance: A Guide to Dynamic Hedging.

In an article on National Review Online today, Luskin praised “Paulonomics,” writing: “In an election year in which bigger government, higher taxes, and protectionism seem to have so much momentum, Paulonomics may be just what is needed to rebalance the debate in favor of growth.”

With his endorsement Luskin joins a long list of other financial advisors who have endorsed Ron Paul for president, including Peter Schiff, president, Euro Pacific Capital, Inc. who wrote: “Ron Paul is the real deal, a true statesman and citizen politician in the traditions envisioned by the framers of our Republic.”

On Monday, January 21, Gary Johnson – two-term governor of New Mexico – formally endorsed Ron Paul for President.

To announce his endorsement, Governor Johnson issued the following statement:

“I am endorsing Ron Paul for the Republican nomination for President because of his commitment to less government, greater liberty, and lasting prosperity for America. We are at a point in this country where we need to reduce our dependency on government and regain control of our future. To this end, Ron Paul will bring back troops, end the War in Iraq, and will strengthen the U.S. dollar and the economy. For these reasons and more, Ron Paul has my support, respect, and vote.”

Gary Johnson was governor of New Mexico from 1995 to 2003.  As governor, he was a forceful advocate for limited government, gaining the nickname “Veto Johnson” for his record of vetoing hundreds of bills.

On Tuesday, January 22 – the 35th anniversary of the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision – Norma McCorvey has endorsed Texas Congressman Ron Paul for president.

Norma McCorvey runs Crossing over Ministry – formerly Roe No More Ministryand is best known as “Jane Roe” in the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision.  McCorvey, who is now a pro-life activist, issued the following endorsement of Congressman Paul:

“Ron Paul states, ‘The right of an innocent, unborn child to life is at the heart of the American ideals of liberty.’

“I support Ron Paul for president because we share the same goal, that of overturning Roe v Wade.  Ron Paul doesn’t just talk about  being pro-life, he acts on it. His voting record truly is impeccable and he undoubtedly understands our constitutional republic and the inalienable right to life for all. Ron Paul is the prime author of H.R. 300, which would negate the effect of Roe v. Wade. As the signor of the affidavit that legalized abortion 35 years ago, I appreciate Ron Paul’s action to restore protection for the unborn. Ron Paul has also authored H.R. 1094 in Congress, which seeks to define life as beginning at conception. He has never wavered on the issue of being pro-life and has a voting record to prove it. He understands the importance of civil liberties for all, including the unborn.

“After taking all of the presidential candidates into consideration, it is obvious that Ron Paul is the only one that doesn’t just talk the talk. For this reason and those stated above, I am publicly endorsing Ron Paul for president.”

Congressman Ron Paul of Texas enjoys a national reputation as the premier advocate for liberty in politics today. Dr. Paul is the leading spokesman in Washington for limited constitutional government, low taxes, free markets, and a return to sound monetary policies based on commodity-backed currency. He is known among both his colleagues in Congress and his constituents for his consistent voting record in the House of Representatives: Dr. Paul never votes for legislation unless the proposed measure is expressly authorized by the Constitution.
