You still pay taxes into it – mainly because the government requires you to do so and backs up this requirement with deadly force – but you also promise to steadfastly refuse to accept a single cent of “Social Security” benefits. Instead, you treat the taxes as a sunk cost and work to build up your own savings for the future. This approach is perfectly legal, moral, and practicable on any scale. Mr. Stolyarov is doing it, and he hopes that you will do likewise.
