Man a great blunder had condoned, Accepted idleness from fears That sacred progress had dethroned. And in oppression’s dark regime ‘T was made a horrid crime to know How to prevent destruction’s scheme And cause technology to grow. Fueled by a mutual distrust, Opponents thought that to destroy Civilization was a must If any did a fiery nuke employ. Therefore no effort had been made To implement a wondrous shield, That prospects of destruction fade And would desired arms races yield. For, friends, what is a state In which two titans do compete, Constantly mending every trait For better? ‘Tis profoundly sweet. Instead of halting as do fools We have at last resolved to rise. Woe’s come to him who idly drools And gazes through antiprogressive eyes. And none shall thwart our sprint ahead, From which shall safety stem. No more exists repression dread. No more is ABM. G. Stolyarov II is a science fiction novelist, independent filosofical essayist, poet, amateur mathematician, composer, contributor to Enter Stage Right, Le Quebecois Libre, and the Ludwig von Mises Institute, Senior Writer for The Liberal Institute, and Editor-in-Chief of The Rational Argumentator, a magazine championing the principles of reason, rights, and progress.
